On Saturday, July 9, 2011, my friends Rich Samuels and Greg Baldwin paid a visit to the Twirl studios. These guys are pioneers in new media–blogging and vlogging. Rich has won three Emmy Awards for his work, and has a social media commentary blog called The World According To Rich. And Greg is the proprietor of Greg’s Gourmet, soon to be one of the top foodie sites on the web.

The Whiskey Saints – “Before My Time” video
Los Angeles band The Whiskey Saints just released their second album, “24 Hours”, on June 7th. They’ve been tearing up the L.A. club scene, not the least of which was their CD release party at the world-famous Viper Room. To get a taste of what the excitement is all about, check out this video of their song “Before My Time”, directed by Dan Mercaldi. And get their album too–it’s excellent.

Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Beth Thornley just released a really fun video for her song “You’re So Pony”, from her album “Wash U Clean”. When you look up the word “cute” in the dictionary, this video had better be part of the definition. Otherwise, find a new dictionary!
The video was directed by Los Angeles based filmmaker Liz Manashil. If you need a director for your film, Liz would be the one.
